Description
Bastide du Claux, “Barraban” Lubéron blanc 2019
Bastide du Claux was founded in 2002 in the Luberon, in the hills of western Provence, by Sylvain Morey, son of noted Burgundian producer Jean-Marc Morey. When his father retired after the 2014 vintage, Sylvain returned to Burgundy to establish his own domaine there but kept his southern outpost. Here in Provence he farms some 44 acres of vineyard scattered throughout the region planted to 14 different varietals. His white is a blend of seven different varietals but primarily Vermentino and Grenache Blanc; floral and fruity on the nose with notes of acacia, lime, and fennel, it is bright, fresh, and lively on the palate. The vines range between 30-70 years old.
This unoaked, bone dry white is a stunning value!
