Horiot Metisses Brut Nature NV
Varietal: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Blanc
The grapes for this wine come from eight different vineyards in Les Riceys. The Pinot Blanc gives the wine a unique creaminess.
Each varietal is vinified separately and goes through malolactic fermentation. Aged on its lees in oak barrels. Prior to secondary fermentation, a vintage base wine is blended with a solera of reserve wines. The amount of time sur lattes varies and is cited on the wine’s back label.
While usually released as a Brut Nature, the wine can also come as Extra Brut depending on the bottling.
