Vajra Spumante Rosato Della Neve NV
Rosé Champagne vibes from Barolo? Umm, yes please! Giuseppe Vajra makes this sparkling rosé in the exact same way as the French make it in Champagne but with a delicious split of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Nebbiolo from a magnificently steep vineyard on the northern edge of Barolo. The harshness of the climate gives the wine is refreshing minerality. And like only the most expensive and revered rosé Champagnes, the Della Neve is made with freshly pressed juice only (as opposed to dosing a brut wine with still red wine). The wine then ages in bottle for up to 5 years. If this were Champagne it would cost no less than $150. Gorgeous, gorgeous stuff.
