Description
Domaine de Baronarques Chardonnay Limoux 2018 750ml
93 POINTS: JAMES SUCKLING – Apples and nougat with some peaches and pralines on the nose. Full-bodied, tight and poised with dried pineapple and mango. Some mineral and stone, too. Lots going on. Rather unique. Drink or hold.
92 POINTS: ROBERT PARKER’S WINE ADVOCATE – A Limoux-based offshoot of the Baron Philippe de Rothschild empire, this estate’s Chardonnay is usually excellent, despite the Bordelais heritage. The 2018 Limoux Chardonnay combines classy notes of pencil shavings with hints of toasted hazelnut and white peaches on the nose. It’s medium-bodied, poised and elegant, with just enough custardy richness and generosity to balance the ripe, mouthwatering acids that linger refreshingly on the finish.
