5 sentidos mezcal Sierra negra
5 Sentidos Sierra Negra is crafted with maguey Sierra Negra. The agave is manually mashed and then fermented with spring water and tepehuaje bark. This bark provides an organic nitrogen source to stabilize fermentation in the high altitude Albarradas, which is too cold to ferment agave without some form of stabilizer. Double distillation in clay pot stills is the final step before release, with the first US bottle arriving in 2017 – 181 bottles in total. Each batch shows slightly differing ABV.
