Chateau Des Jaques Morgon 2017- 750Ml
A deep cherry color with red fruit aromas and flavors, typically high acidity and notable tannic structure. A perfect partner for charcuterie, Italian foods and red and white meats. Youthful violet. Spicy, smoke-tinged cherry and dark berry scents are complemented by suggestions of candied violet and cola. Smoky black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors show very good depth and power, with a spicy element emerging as the wine opens up. Sappy, incisive and appealingly sweet on the finish, which is firmed by supple, well-knit tannins. The 2013 Morgon has a bright and “perky” nose: Morello cherry and cranberry leaf scents racing from the glass, all nicely defined and exuberant. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe red cherry and boysenberry fruit, very fleshy and supply in the mouth, almost a “playful” Morgon that slips down the throat a treat. Not an intellectual Morgon, but one that is very well crafted.
