- WHY: After decades of success creating one of the industry’s most-revered small batch Bourbons, Knob Creek took the same approach to crafting a small batch rye whiskey, using choice barrels of well-aged whiskey to create a soft, and easily-enjoyable expression.
- HOW: Jim Beam does not disclose its exact mashbill recipes, but it’s believed that the Knob Creek rye whiskey uses only the legal minimum of 51% rye with the remainder being corn and barley. Bottled at 100 proof, just like the Bourbon, the rye character comes through on the palate, bringing herbaceous notes and spice, bolstered by subtle sweetness from the oak.
