Matured near the top, but not quite all the way up in the rick house racks, the dominant note in this 9 year old Knob Creek single barrel is oak. Big, sweet, charred notes of wood, melded with crème brulee and sweet maple notes. There’s a nice level of spice on the finish, but the ultimate takeaway here is the intensity of the oak maturation and power of the punch. If you prefer a big, boisterous Bourbon that’s chock full of woody flavors, we think you’ll be quite pleased with this whiskey.
